The menopause specialists

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement TherapyDeborah Vines, founder of the Menopause Clinic, is a trained nurse who first became interested in menopause management when she became a patient herself. Deborah was so impressed by the positive impact of HRT on the health and vitality of menopausal women that she trained at the Marion Gluck Academy to become a prescriber of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, one of the first in the UK.

Deborah takes a holistic approach to menopause care using bioidentical hormones to balance the hormones, but also advising on lifestyle changes and prescribing nutritional supplements to restore the zest for life that many women feel they lose during perimenopause and menopause.

Deborah and her team of healthcare professionals are committed to helping you live your best life!

Common menopause symptoms

Menopausal symptoms vary between women, and your menopause experience may be unlike that of your friends or even other family members.

Many women experience some or all of the following symptoms, which can impact their personal relationships and ability to work and socialise.

Hot flushes
Fatigue and low energy
Mood swings
Anxiety
Aching joints
Insomnia
Urinary incontinence
Reduced libido

Our personalised hormone replacement therapy treatment programmes are designed to address all these symptoms, enabling you to enjoy life again.

What is hormone replacement therapy?

As the name suggests, this treatment involves the use of prescribed hormones to boost low hormone levels and create balance in the body.

As menopause specialists, we can prescribe plant-based bio-identical hormones. This type of HRT contains plant oestrogen extracted from soya and yams.

Bio-identical hormones are more compatible with the natural hormones circulating in the body than synthetic hormones, reducing the risk of adverse effects.

You can read more about bio-identical hormones here.

What is peri menopause?

Some women notice changes in their feelings of well-being and their energy levels long before their periods stop, and this phase of life is called perimenopause. It is common for female hormones to become out of balance when women are in their forties, causing a variety of symptoms.

We can offer personalised care to ease your transition through perimenopause.

What is premature menopause?

Menopause before the age of 40 is classified as premature menopause. Women with this type of menopause experience require careful management, as early menopause can have long-term health effects.

As menopause specialists, we are experienced in supporting women who have gone through menopause early, offering HRT to support bone health and sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Men can also experience hormonal imbalance, and we can offer a range of treatment options, including male hormone replacement.

Appointments at the clinic

All our patients have a consultation with Deborah Vines, who will take a full medical history and discuss their menopausal symptoms with them.

A blood sample will be taken to measure your hormone levels. A second consultation will be arranged to discuss the results of your blood test and your personalised treatment plan, as well as your HRT prescription.

Telephone and video consultations

Deborah’s reputation attracts patients from other parts of the UK, so we also offer remote appointments if you are unable to come to the clinic. You will still need to submit a blood sample, and we can send a blood test kit for you to collect it.

Regular follow-up appointments are an essential part of your treatment, as they allow us to monitor your progress and adjust your medication if we believe the desired results are not being achieved.
