Some patients that come to see us will find that they are vitamin D3 deficient; in fact 1 in 5 people in the UK are estimated to be vitamin D3 deficient, and this is shocking considering how vital this vitamin is for a healthy body! High potency vitamin D3 providing 5000IU of cholecaliferol per tablet is available through The Menopause Clinic, and may be advised depending on your blood test results. The key features of this tablet include:

  • High strength vitamin D3
  • The vitamin D3 is provided as cholecaliferol, which is good for enhanced absorption within the body
  • Just 1 easy-to-take tablet per day is recommended, unless otherwise stipulated by your medical professional at The Menopause Clinic

Nutri-Advanced 5-HTP

5-HTP is an abbreviation for 5-Hydroxytryptophan – the immediate amino acid precursor to serotonin. This means that 5-HTP is converted to serotonin inside the body; serotonin is an extremely important neurotransmitter within the body, which is involved in regulating numerous bodily functions, in particular brain and nerve function. Serotonin can also be converted in the to melatonin within the body, which is another important neurotransmitter that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

5-HTP capsules help to support normal sleep patterns and maintain a healthy nervous system. Nutri-Advanced 5-HTP capsules use pure grade 5-HTP, which is extracted from a natural plant source known as ‘Griffonia Simplicifolia’.

Each 5-HTP contains 50mg of 5-HTP, and a bottle contains 60 capsules. These capsules are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, and can be sprinkled onto food if you wish.

If you are taking antidepressant medication, please do not take 5-HTP unless under supervision by a medical professional, such as the team at The Menopause Clinic. This is because some antidepressant medications already contain serotonin.

Nutri-Advanced Eskimo-3 Fish Oil

Eskimo-3 is a pure omega-3 fish oil, which provides high levels of EPA and DHA (fatty acids) in their naturally present concentrations. EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, and DHA also supports normal brain function and vision. In addition to this, EPA and DHA also provide support for normal blood pressure, normal triglyceride levels, and optimal skin health.

Eskimo-3 also contains vitamin E, which ensures long term stability with no fishy odours or aftertaste, as well as offering its own health benefits, which include protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage, which can lead to premature ageing.

We choose to use Nutri-Advanced Eskimo-3 because it is one of the most extensively researched and documents omega-3 supplements in existence, with over 130 published scientific papers to its name. It’s also never been chemically modified, and is made from sustainable sources of oily fish found living off the coast of Peru.

Magnesium Glycinate

Magnesium Glycinate is a mineral supplement, which is used to prevent and treat low amounts of magnesium in the blood. Magnesium is extremely important for the normal functioning of nerves, muscles, cells, bones, and the heart.

Commonly, a well balanced diet will provide the required levels of magnesium within the blood, but certain conditions or situations might cause your body to lose magnesium faster that it can be replaced with just diet. In these cases, Magnesium Glycinate tablets will likely be recommended.

Magnesium supplements should be taken with food, and should be taken regularly (as recommended by your specialist at The Menopause Clinic) to see the full benefits. Dosage will be recommended based on your condition, and also your response to treatment.
