With a five-star reputation, the Menopause Clinic is the leading provider of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy in Manchester.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy – also known as BHRT – is a specific and advanced form of standard hormone replacement therapy.
Whereas HRT uses synthetic, lab-produced chemicals to replicate hormones, BHRT produces hormones that are chemically identical to the ones your body produces naturally. This is a clear advantage, the body predisposed to work with hormones in the form it is used to.
However, effective treatment also relies upon getting the blend of hormones perfect for each and every client. This is where our expertise, and the expertise of trained BHRT specialist Deborah Vines at Manchester’s Menopause Clinic is crucial.
We use a four-stage process to match you to the perfect blend of BHRT treatments for your needs.
Who is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for in Manchester?
The hormone replacement can be suitable for anyone, male or female, as they age and experience issues such as loss of memory, lack of libido and wrinkling skin.
However, the benefits are most commonly associated with women in either the menopause or perimenopause stage and this is where we specialise. By focussing on this area, we can ensure that we offer a truly specialised service for women at an important stage of their life.
Our treatments are typically suitable for anyone in either stage. Increasingly, there is evidence that many women are undergoing the menopause earlier than would have been the case for previous generations, this means that the need to have an initial consultation can be apparent at a younger age.
For anyone who has the early signs of depleted hormones it is advised to seek an appointment as soon as possible so that the replacement hormones, if required, can start reducing the impact of the loss.
Our Replacement Hormones
Menopause Clinic’s hormones are made from natural plant oestrogen and based on a substance known as ‘Diosgenin’.
We are seeking to rectify the reduction in oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Oestrogen levels can be almost entirely depleted by the age of 40, while progesterone can also be very low and testosterone at around half its level of earlier life.
Our carefully balanced hormones, delivered as creams, lozenges or capsules, work to address the specific depletion of an individual patient – no two patients have precisely the same requirement as every women’s menopause is different.
Our Four-Step BHRT Treatment Process
The four stages to your personalised Biochemical Hormone Replacement Therapy package are:
- Contact the Menopause Clinic to arrange a consultation with BHRT treatment specialist Deborah Vines.
- A consultation of around 45-minutes will be held, this will also look into your medical history. At this consultation, a blood sample will be taken and sent away for analysis to assess your current hormone levels.
- Test results are returned – often inside two days – and we would then call you to discuss the results and also outline our suggested treament plan and prescription.
- The prescription will be sent to your pharmacy, who will post you the medication. Next day delivery is possible.
Six weeks later, we would phone you to discuss how you are feeling – in some rare cases we would then tweak the prescription a little to maximise beneficial impact.
A second prescription is then sent to the pharmacy, this covering the next four-month period.
At the six-month stage, a phone consultation is held with Deborah Vines, this another chance to discuss how you are feeling and for us to assess the positive impact of the BHRT treatment.
Two more repeat prescriptions are then possible, these would last up to six months and so the whole process covers a year’s worth of treatment.
At this stage, the whole process would repeat as a face-to-face prescription must be held at least once a year.

A city of true global importance, Manchester is famous for being central to the Industrial Revolution and, in more recent time, a centre for the arts and sporting excellence.
The history of Manchester begins with its emergence as a Roman fort under the name Mancunium or Mamucium, this established shortly before 100 AD.
There was then only modest growth until the incredible acceleration brought about by the industrialisation of the region, indeed Manchester was the world’s first industrialised city.
In more recent times, Manchester has adapted into being a home for sport, entertainment, media and also science – for instance graphene was first isolated in Manchester University, while the atom was also first split in Manchester.
Sporting success of course includes Manchester United and City – both multiple winners of the Premier League and other honours.
The list of famous residents is enormous, some names include L.S Lowry, Emmeline Pankhurst, Morrissey, Caroline Aherne, the Bee Gees and Liam and Noel Gallagher.
